At the time of its construction this was the World’s largest dining table made from recycled skateboards. This piece measures 13.5’ long by 3’ wide and is made from over 175 recycled skateboards and blackened steel. This piece of art has one of the most special stories of any piece I have ever created. This was the center obstacle at the first ever Barousse Works Invitational which is a skate contest where we invite the Skateshops and their teams who I work with to get my recycled skateboards to come skate in the middle of my city. From local businesses and my local government to RedBull and Vans, we all worked together to shut down two city blocks in Lafayette, La to bring 21 Skateshops and over 100 professional and amateur skaters to skateboard on this very piece. At the end of the event we took every person’s signature and laser engraved them on acrylic panels and mounted them to the bottom to make this a truly one of a kind piece of art. Some of the skaters who came with our partner Skateshops actually contributed boards that were used to make this piece and then those very same skaters grinded this table. With over 100 skater’s grinding this table without it breaking, it’s safe to say it is very well built. I put my heart and soul into this piece and we displayed it in a way that made the 11 year old skateboarder in me shine. Thank you! ✨
