Coffee table made from recycled skateboards, sinker cypress, and epoxy. Sinker cypress occurs whenever the local Louisiana Cypress falls into the swamp and decays underwater over time. The water erodes the grain in a way that removes the softer parts leaving only the hard parts of the grain. Each tree is harvested from the bottom of the swamp and then kiln dried before milling into usable lumber. From there I take it and fill each void with a pigmented epoxy then further mill it to use it to create boarders for my tables and other art pieces. This lovely table consists of about 45 recycled skateboards that were all skated and thrown out as trash from all over the gulf coast. This piece took me roughly 3 months to complete and is one of my favorite creations I’ve ever made. I’m very proud of this one and look forward to seeing it in its new home. ~18”H x 24”W x 49.5”L
