The Glenn Lounge Chair hand made from broken recycled skateboards and epoxy. This chair was made from over 45 skateboards saved from landfills from all over the southeast United States. To show that this chair is as strong in practice as it is in design, we hosted the second annual Barousse Works Invitational and allowed more than 100 pro/amateur skateboarders skate over this chair right in the middle of the contest. It never broke even with people hitting it. This design is one that is built to last and maintain its beauty. Each one of these is handmade to order and is only able to happen after careful cooperation happens on every level from the skaters using the skateboards to myself as I handcraft each and every component. Each skateboard represents a time where a kid decided to ride his or her skateboard instead of doing something negative. I truly believe that and that’s how I choose to look at each board throughout the entire process of creating my art.
