Art from what’s been ridden. Purpose in what’s been discarded.

Barousse Works is the creative studio of Daniel Barousse — a lifelong skateboarder, designer, and craftsman who transforms broken skateboards into one-of-a-kind furniture, art, and storytelling pieces.

About Barousse Works

Rooted in the belief that every skateboard tells a story, we give new life to boards once destined for the landfill — blending fine woodworking with the raw spirit of skateboarding. Each board we use once marked a moment when someone, somewhere, made the conscious decision to get up, go outside, and do something meaningful. That intention and energy live on in every one of our pieces.

From high-end heirloom furniture to soulful, functional art, Barousse Works is more than a workshop — it’s a portal for remembrance, inviting you to reconnect with the beauty of what once was, and what still can be.

We don’t just make furniture. We build stories. We share skateboarding.

We take good energy to produce more good energy. And we invite you to bring a piece of that journey into your world.

About Daniel Barousse

I was born and raised in Lafayette, LA, where I was introduced to carpentry by my dad and grandfather. My family has passed the trade down for generations—my great-great-grandfather was known as the best carpenter in New Orleans, according to my grandfather. Growing up, I learned the craft the old-school way, spending summers building and watching the process up close.

I started skateboarding at 11 and still skate most days when my body allows it. Over the years, I’ve combined my love for traditional woodworking, modern design, and skate culture into what I do today. There’s nothing better to me than making a custom piece by hand and then hitting a skate session with friends.

About Leo Nava

Leo is the embodiment of kindness, authenticity, and boundless talent—the heart and soul of versatility at Barousse Works. Affectionately known as the Swiss Army Knife of our friend group, he has a natural gift for nearly everything he touches, from skateboarding and dancing to making music, fingerboarding, and filmmaking. When Leo joined Barousse Works, he took to the woodshop like he’d been there for years, quickly mastering the lathe and becoming the creative force behind many of our handcrafted bowls. His deep versatility and calm, focused energy bring something truly special to the studio. Some of our best days are spent working side by side in complete silence for hours, each of us in our own flow—those quiet, shared moments show up in the work we create.

Leo’s deep Mexican heritage and devotion to family are at the core of everything he does. His work ethic, passion, and humility are constant reminders of what it means to live with purpose. As the owner of Barousse Works, my mission is to make sure Leo has the support, space, and opportunities to build the life he envisions—for himself and the people he loves. His presence in the shop is more than just valuable—it’s proof that when you lead with heart and put in the work, incredible things happen.
