This truly one of a kind sculpture was made as a collaborative effort between Alain Boris and Daniel Barousse. Standing at 6’3” and being made from recycled skateboards and acrylic by Daniel, the colors truly come to life paired with Alain’s beautiful painting. Representative of Alain’s homeland of Rwanda Africa and Daniel’s lifelong passion of skateboarding, this piece was born from a love for life and passion.

“I delivered a dining table to a great client in Denver, CO and while setting up the piece, I saw a large painting hanging in the room where the dining table was going. Whenever I looked at it I immediately began admiring the amount of color and character in the work itself. There was so much vibrancy to it. I commented to the client how much I loved that painting and then continued to set up the dining table. As I finished and took a step back I was able to see the dining table I had made from recycled skateboards next to this beautiful painting. The colors in the room were just pulling in light from all directions and looked so great together. Both myself and the client exclaimed how we liked the two pieces side by side as they were. I asked the client about the artist and he told me his name was Alain Boris. The client said “you guys would get along great!”. Immediately I began to follow Alain on Instagram. After 6-7 months of seeing his creations and really loving his style, I reached out to him to see if he’d want to work together some day. Turns out he had known who I was and was an admirer of my own work so he was excited to do something. Several months later I was in San Antonio, TX visiting my sister and Alain and I met for a coffee one morning as our first in person meeting. Immediately the energy for life that we shared was felt by us both. We talked about everything from life growing up to the project ideas we wanted to do and where we saw our paths taking us. It was this meeting that we decided to set a date and get to work on a few big ideas. A month later Alain drove his RV from San Antonio, TX to Lafayette, LA and we got to work. What you see is the result, and both Alain and myself are very proud to show it to the world.”
