The Vida Table was born in Costa Rica inside my shipping container workshop right on the edge of the waves. I created this design for my friend Felipe and his wife Gloria who own the Pipe House in Playa Grande Costa Rica. This was where I spent 3.5 living and creating with this piece being the focal point of that time period. I used local almond wood and recycled skateboards to create this two tiered table. To stabilize a crack that formed in the almond wood shelf I added a green epoxy and a recycled skateboard inlay. The goal of this piece was to create something for someone I love in an environment that made my soul and creative self feel fully alive. As an artist I feel like my goal was met 100% on this one and I look forward to being able to create more pieces that match this design in the future.
